Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

Thank you to all of our Primary parents that attended the consultations with teachers this week.  These consultations are so important to ensure there is a genuine three-way partnership that will enable your children to make significant progress, both academically and socially, and emotionally.

As COVID numbers continue to decrease and with the recent government instruction, we are now permitting all students and staff to not wear masks when outdoors, whilst still being mindful of keeping a safe distance from each other.  We continue to wash hands regularly, take temperature checks and wear masks indoors. In addition, we will continue with our COVID protocols with regard to close contacts and confirmed cases – please continue to inform us of any cases at home.

Due to more favorable COVID circumstances, we are planning to introduce more ASAs and a series of trips and events for our students; these are listed opposite in ‘forthcoming events’ and we will confirm exact dates soon.   We will continue to add to this list, especially in Secondary, as we look to involve students in an increasing array of exciting learning opportunities outside of the classroom.

Whilst continuing to plan for this year we are also busy planning for the 2022-23 academic year, in line with our strategic intentions and ambitious school development plan.  Part of this includes recruiting the very best teachers to join our fabulous existing team; we have already secured the services of six new and fantastic teachers for next year.  Due to a variety of personal factors, the Leadership Team will be a new one for 2022-23.  We have had over 100 applications for these crucial appointments and have already narrowed our search down to an impressive range of short-listed candidates.  We will, of course, keep you updated over the following weeks.

As you will know, next Tuesday 8th March is a national holiday celebrating International Women’s Day, so school will be closed.  Today we had a lovely Primary School Assembly, celebrating the achievements of women throughout the world, with our students presenting our primary female staff with gifts of appreciation.  On Monday we will show our gratitude to all of our wonderful female staff.

A reminder that in line with government instruction, the school will be closed for Navruz from Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd March inclusive. We have therefore added two school days to our calendar which are Saturday 26th March and Saturday 23rd April.

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind regards,

Principal
