WIST VS BST SOCCER MATCH!
On Thursday 29th September, WIST welcomed The British School to their campus for another Soccer Sensation. The newly attired Varsity (Under19) and Junior Varsity (Under 15) teams were perfect in purple and, after many weeks of training, were ready to compete. As our community and guests assembled, last minute words were shared with the teams and then the whistle sounded the start.
Spectators witnessed a high level of play on each pitch. Each team moved from end to end in their quest for a win. The first goal was scored on the Varsity pitch and WIST took an early lead. As tackles, headers and passes flowed, more goals were celebrated with the chanting of our primary and secondary students “GO WIST! GO WIST! GO WIST!”
When the final whistle sounded, all players had given 100% (coaches too!). Junior varsity had battled well and brought their game back to 3-3. However, two late goals sadly sealed their loss in an excellent game against a strong opposition. The Varsity team concluded their close game and came away victors with a well deserved 2-1 win.
Both teams will train next week and return to action against TIS, in two weeks’ time!
