NYUAD comes to WIST

Last week, Year 12s enjoyed a visit from Ms. Darya Anisimova, representative of NYUAD, New York University in Abu Dhabi. Darya, who is an experienced student adviser and recruiter, gave us an informative and interesting presentation about NYUAD which also covered the university’s other two campuses: the mother campus in New York and the newly opened campus in Shanghai.

NYUAD is located on a brand-new, state-of-the-art campus in Abu Dhabi and offers a range of exciting degree courses across the sciences and humanities, many of which involve a period of study abroad. The university has an extremely diverse international student body and offers various bursaries and scholarships to students to applicants with lower incomes.

Besides finding out about NYUAD specifically, students learned a lot about university application and selection processes in general and got a taste of the many opportunities in higher education open to them. Students who attended the session found it very useful and we hope it will be the first of many.
