What’s on the Menu ? by Y4 Lions

As part of their IPC topic – What’s on the Menu?, Year 4 Lions were working on the project of opening their own restaurants. Firstly, using Google Earth App, the children decided on the location of their restaurant to make sure it is in a crowded area and is easy to access to.

To link geography along with history, the pupils imagined that the great King Tutankhamun from Ancient Egypt was going to visit their restaurant and they would have to prepare a special menu for him. To do that, the pupils looked at the location and historical paintings of Ancient Egypt and discovered that fish was one of the main dishes during the times of Ancient Egypt.

As a follow up, the children made their own fish burgers that they thought would be a wonderful offer to the mighty Pharaoh. As expected, the taste was absolutely delicious! The class agreed that King Tut would have been very delighted and would have left them with a generous tip. The children also wrote their own recipes on “How To Make Fish Burgers?” based on their cooking experience earlier on.

In Year 4 Lions, the children love integrating many skills into one big challenge – learning takes place everywhere!
