Alternative Curriculum Day Field Trip to FDI

As part of the recent Alternative Curriculum Day for Secondary, the Humanities Department organised a field trip for our Year 11 and Year 12 Business Studies and Geography students to an orchard on the outskirts of Tashkent managed by the Fruit Development International (FDI).

Our students had first hand experience on how an orchard plantation operates with interactive input from specialists in the areas of irrigation, sustainable apple tree development and business operations. Students also demonstrated their knowledge and engagement through question-and-answer opportunities. One student was quoted as saying “I have never picked an apple from a tree before.”

This trip has provided our students with invaluable experience and relevant knowledge to enhance their understanding of how and why an organisation such as FDI is so successful in achieving their Business and Social Objectives.
