In IGCSE, it is important that students learn to work form their firsthand visual research, whether that is drawing directly from life or from their own photographs. In this activity Year 10 art students have selected a specific area of an image that has a range of tones and textures. Students then develop their drawing skills of shading and blending to recreate the effects of chiaroscuro (light and dark) with pencil.
